Nicholas Walser

Nick handles a variety of work relating to shipping and international trade. This includes commodity trading disputes, especially under GAFTA and FOSFA terms and oil trading contracts, as well as cargo claims and charterparty and bill of lading disputes. He also deals with ship sale, purchase and finance matters, and advises ship classification and cargo inspection agencies.

He graduated from Cambridge with first class honours in law in 1974 and has been a specialist shipping lawyer in the City of London for more than 25 years.

He speaks French fluently and has a working knowledge of German. He is a correspondent member of the Association Française du Droit Maritime (French Maritime Law Association) and has written articles and lectured - in English and in French - on a variety of legal topics.
