Tim Knight was admitted as a solicitor in 1988, and was one of the founding members of Holmes Hardingham, coming to the firm as an assistant solicitor in July 1989. He has remained with the firm since then, working his way up to Partner by 1993, and is a senior member of the firm’s strong cargo claims department.

For several years he has been recognised as a leader in the field of Road Transport law by Chamber's Guide to the Legal Profession and in Legal Business publications. His work encompasses the national and international carriage of goods by road, warehousekeeping, related insurance matters and terms and conditions of business, together with the carriage of goods by sea, air and rail. Working for transit and cargo insurers, hauliers and forwarders, he has been instructed in many high profile CMR cases, including National Semiconductor v. UPS, Gefco v. Mason, Lacey’s Footwear v. Bowler International and Alena v. Harlequin Transport. He lectures regularly to clients and insurance associations on CMR and related issues.

Tim is a very keen golfer, squash player and motorsport enthusiast.
